SHREWSBURY, Mass. – Mindy McKenzie-Hebert has announced that she is running for Massachusetts Republican State Committee representing the towns of Auburn, Grafton, Leicester, Millbury, Northbridge (precincts 2 & 4), Shrewsbury, Upton and Worcester (Wards 5-8).
"As Chairman of the Shrewsbury Republican Town Committee and working on campaigns in our district, I am encouraged and excited to have an opportunity to represent and unite the party here in Central Massachusetts," McKenzie-Hebert said.
The State Committee is the legislative body of the Mass GOP and consists of forty men and women elected every four years.
McKenzie-Hebert sees the position as one with vast opportunity in central Mass.
"I strongly believe that the best solutions to address the issues in the Commonwealth will come as a result of robust dialog and open debate - decisions cannot and should not be made behind closed doors by a few or with the assistance of special interests," McKenzie-Hebert said.
McKenzie-Hebert and her husband David reside in Shrewsbury at 5 Woodchuck Hill Road. Their children, Madison and Macklin are in college and graduated from Shrewsbury High School. McKenzie-Hebert currently sits on the Planning Board and the Open Space and Recreation Plan Committee in town.
"As a State Committee representative, I will draw on my broad range of experiences as local community leader, political finance director and successful fundraiser, as well as that of wife and mother, to recruit and help elect outstanding Republican candidates that reflect the make-up of our communities," McKenzie-Hebert said.
Mindy McKenzie-Hebert has received endorsements from area Representatives, including the Assistant Minority Leader George Peterson from Grafton, Matt Beaton from Shrewsbury and Kim Ferguson from Holden.
"I am deeply honored to have the support of respected legislators" McKenzie-Hebert said.
Voters in the district are invited to the Grafton Inn, 25 Central Square (Rt. 140) in Grafton on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. to "Meet and Greet Mindy." To RSVP or to contact please e-mail Mindy4GOP@gmail.com or call 508-736-7723.
